This year I’m pausing and taking things slow.
We all live such fast paced world these days where everything and everyone seems to be rushing around. Maybe you are reading this and looking to live a much slower life yourself.
I totally get that, me too !!
I don’t know about you but I have reached a point in my life where I’ve realised I want to savour the small things a little more. It’s so easy to always be looking to the next thing, come monday morning we are already longing for the weekend, counting down to summer, halloween, Christmas. In the first week of January the shops were already getting flip flops and bikinis in, easter eggs on the shelves of the supermarkets and valentines cards advertised at every avail.
If we are constantly flitting from one thing to the next what happens to the days inbetween? I’ve come to realise I need “we need to” start taking note of the smaller everyday moments, savour the seasons and pause and take in the mondane days. I have started the year much slower than previous years pausing and taking in the smaller things. The every moments, laughs from the kids, a cup of tea in bed on a Sunday morning, homework, karate, wraping up warm and walking the dog, my photography, family Sunday lunches and catching up with friends. Pausing is where I’m at for 2020.
Although these everyday moments can seem less important or my not seem like the most exciting or best days of our lifes. These are the days that we have the small victories, the precious moments. Yes there maybe sad days, losses, general rubbish days but these days help us grow and flourish as a person, these are the days that help us reach the bigger goals in life.
How has the start 2020 been for you?
Are your pausing in 2020?
