The meaning of Christmas is different for everyone. From religious meanings to seeing loved ones opening gifts, to spending time with friends and family. For some Christmas may not conjure up such feelings of warmth and love. Christmas for some is a tough time of year when they are reminded of lost loved ones or they may not have all their friends and family around them.
Whatever Christmas means to you, use this time to do the things you want to do. Be kind to yourself and give yourself the time to enjoy the smaller things in life that we can all apprecicate just a little more at this time of year. Its not all about having a picture perfect pinterest worthy house, although I feel a little hypercrytical writing this as I’m such a lover of phototgraphy and capturing those special moments in time. What I think I’m trying to say is do whats right for you and don’t feel the pressure to be a certain way.
For us Christmas is about spending time together as a family and enjoying the slow and more simplistic days. Eating and drinking way too much, spending the afternoons hybernating under a cosy blanket watching Christmas films with a big glass of baileys
Getting outdoors and taking a walk, this might be with friends and family, alone or just with the dog.
Light all the candles or pop on the fairy lights nothing says Christmas to me like a twinkle light.
Enjoy all the food, big dinners, relaxed supers its all about the food for us.
Taking a digital detox and enjoy some tech free time. Spending actual time with my family may seem like a strange thing to say but we often get so consumed in the digital world we forget to have proper conversations with people with live with and see daily.
Lazy mornings and pj days its all about enjoying the simple things this Christmas.
So all that is left for me to say is enjoy your Christmas however you choose to enjoy it. Do Christmas your way and enjoy the simple things it brings. This next week I’m going to be switching off, taking some time to finish off my shopping, wrap all the presents, buy all the food, catch up with friends and reading my Christmas books.
This year has brought a lot of change in terms of blogging, but I’m excited for what 2020 has in store, I’ll be back in January rested and ready for a brand new year with lots of new content coming your way.
Just one last thing to say is thankyou to you all for sticking with me though my little wobble as I figured out where my blog was going.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
